Albion training ground stand approved
The facility, in Mash Barn Lane, Lancing, will host Under-21 Premier League games and is required to ensure the club retains its top academy status. Matches were previously played at Culver Road but a new artificial surface meant it no longer met Premier League requirements.
A total of 35 residents objected to the plans but the committee, apart from UKIP’s Geoff Patmore, felt there would be minimal disturbance.

Hide AdWest Sussex County Council’s highways department and the district council’s environmental health officer raised no objection to the plans.
A club spokesman said: “During the planning, development and construction of our award-winning training and academy facility, we have always looked to work successfully in partnership with the political administration and senior officers at Adur District Council.
“We are also very grateful for the support we received for our planning application from the Sussex County FA.
“We take great pride in being good neighbours within the local community. We have, and will continue to, listen to local residents to allay any concerns they may have around noise or traffic.”
