A developer hoping to build 77 new homes in Birdham has appealed Chichester District Council's decision to refuse.

Mr And Mrs Knappett’s large-scale application to redevelop Koolbergen, Kelly’s Nurseries and Bellfield Nurseries in Bell Lane was turned down in February.

The application received scores of objections, including from Birdham Parish Council, who said the ‘scale of urbanisation would destroy the character of the village’.
