Butlins opens its doors at newest hotel attraction
The holiday company has defied the economic gloom by spending 20m on the new visitor attraction.
The first guests at the Ocean Hotel are likely to be enjoying its 200 bedrooms from late August onwards.

Hide AdThey are said by the holiday company to be its most stylish ever. Colour change lighting, rainfall showers and private balconies overlooking the sea and the South Downs will provide luxury surroundings for its 720 guests.
Family rooms feature a separate children's den. Kids' beds come with specially designed blue glow lighting.
Facilities include all-day check-ins, a chic restaurant and bar, unique spa facilities, room service, landscaped gardens and full access to all the entertainment on the Butlins resort.
Prices for a Mariner four-berth room with South Downs views start from 1,120 for two adults and two children for seven nights from Aug ust 21. The same break during the October half-term begins at 952.
