Couple celebrate 70 years of marriage
John and Doris Durrant, who live at the Mount Hermon Care Home, in Brighton Road, Lancing, were given a cake to mark their 70 years of marriage.
Angie Mills, Lancing Parish Council chairman (pictured), presented Mr Durrant, 95, and his wife, 94, with a bouquet of flowers on behalf of the council.

Mr Durrant's father was Dickie Durrant, the well-known Steyning coal merchant. They moved to Lancing two years ago to be near daughter Doreen Booker, and her husband, Barry.
Mr Booker said his father-in-law had al-ways been in good health and enjoyed gardening: "It was only two years ago that he stopped shopping and working in the garden."
Mrs Booker added: "It's not often couples reach 70 years of marriage. They are very happy and are well looked after at the home."
