I popped in to the Hardware Shop: on Saturday, collecting a cup of mulled wine and slice of mince tart on my way in, to see what was on offer during their Christmas Craft Day. It was very popular with all the craft tables full of children and in some cases their parents, learning what was on offer and I must confess that the only one I can remember is how to make pop up cards with Marion! It was lovely to see so many taking part and hopefully this will lead to more people being aware of just what is on offer in this Aladdin’s Cave that is known as the Hardware Shop! Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make it such an enjoyable day in spite of the weather! If you weren’t able to get there and think you might have missed out on purchasing Christmas cards, wrapping paper and many different Fair Trade items, I’m sure there will still be some available to buy at very reasonable prices.
On Sunday, 2 December: the Victory Inn will be hosting a Christmas Quiz Night in aid of St Catherine’s Hospice, the last one of the year. As usual, if you could aim to arrive around 7 pm to ensure a prompt start at 7.30 pm, it would be appreciated; food will be available from 6 pm if you really want to make a night of it. Teams should be made up of no more than 4 people, at £2.50 per person – if you aren’t able to make up a team yourself, I’m sure you will be able to make one up on the night. And as always at events like this, there will be a raffle so if you aren’t lucky in the quiz, you may be lucky in the raffle! If you would like more information, get in touch with Barbara on 400667.
As we are almost in December: if you are holding a Christmas event that you would like me to mention, please do get in touch and I will do my very best to help.
