It would appear: that the recent problems with the NHP’s website (www.spcnhp.blogspot.co.uk) have been resolved and it is up and running again (or at least it was at the time of writing!). The date of the meeting is Monday, 20 June at 7.30 pm in the Pavilion.
Don’t forget the Parish Council meeting: this evening, Thursday, from 7.30 pm in the Pavilion, to be followed by the Planning Committee’s meeting; agendas should be available from the website (www.slaughampc.co.uk) and will also be posted on the notice board outside the Spar Shop.

This is the annual review by the Parish Council of the events of the past year and where possible, an insight in what they hope to achieve in the coming 12 months. Needless to say, mention will be made about the Neighbourhood Plan so if you haven’t been able to get to the NHP monthly meetings, I would expect an update at this meeting. I also understand that representatives from village/parish organisations have been invited to speak which again will provide an ideal opportunity to learn what is going on and available not only in the village but the parish as a whole. Please do go along and support the Council, they are all volunteers who give up their time willingly for our benefit.
On a lighter note: I have been made aware that the WI@Handcross are hosting a ‘learn to bowl’ evening on Monday, 6 June between 7.30 and 9.30 pm at the Bowls Club next to the Parish Hall. If you are interested but aren’t a member, I’m sure there won’t be a problem with you going along but I would suggest that you drop them an email [email protected] to see if there are still spaces and I wouldn’t be surprised if it is a popular event. Their ‘regular’ meeting will be on Tuesday, 21 June when they will be learning about ‘bath bombs’ and no doubt there will be an opportunity to have a go at making one. Their meetings start at 7.30 pm in the Parish Hall.
If you are interested: in going on the Community Bus trip on Tuesday, 7 June to Eltham Palace and gardens but have yet to book your place, you are running out of time! The cost of the trip is £13.30 (fare) plus entrance to the Palace; the bus departs from Nymans at 9.30 am. The person to speak to is Christina in the Hardware Shop or call on 400212.
