Hassocks pupils create visual poppy to mark Remembrance Day

A spokesman for the school in Dale Avenue said: “On Friday afternoon all students in Year 7 together with the Year 7 prefects from Year 11 helped create a visual tribute to the end of World War I.
“It took some organising but finally 260 students were in position.

Hide Ad“Our beautiful red jumpers made a perfect poppy on our school field with the Year 11 prefects in their smart navy blue as the centre. With the aid of a drone we able to record our beautiful poppy.
“Year 7 students also made some wonderful birthday cards for Dilys Armistice Fox who celebrated her 100th birthday on Sunday.
“Mrs Fox is a local resident and we were able to delivery our birthday cards on Friday including a beautiful watercolour of a poppy by Year 10 student Leah Morris.”
Following on from their trip to the trenches in Ypres, Year 10 students at the school took part in remembrance commemorations in Hassocks yesterday.
