Living history lesson at the castle as Trafalgar victory is celebrated

CANNON and gunfire were heard over Arundel Castle last weekend as the Life With Nelson's Navy event transformed the castle grounds into a living history lesson.

The two-day event, staged by the Historical Promotions group, was run as part of the SeaBritain 2005 national programme, commemorating the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar.

The story of Britain's most celebrated admiral in his final battle was interspersed with traditional maritime crafts and battle re-enactments.
