LETTER: Don't punish most vulnerable
In the same edition she rightly points to the inadequate resources devoted to treating eating disorders. However, once again it is her party’s inadequate NHS funding that is bringing mental health services to its knees. As I write, I hear that Cameron is having second thoughts about the latest savage attack on disability payments. This was brought on not by a sudden bout of compassion but a resignation within his cabinet and a realisation that the issue was rapidly becoming politically toxic.
People should be judged not on what they say but what they do. With this in mind, Mrs Ansell and her colleagues that voted for measures that weigh so heavily on the poor and the weak, whilst cutting taxes for the rich, have shown where their priorities lie.
