LETTER: Would UKIP veto airport growth?

You published a letter from Roger Arthur of UKIP in which he explained UKIP’s policy is to plan for a third airport and that adding runways to existing airports may not be the best long term solution. Hear, hear!

Isn’t it obvious that here in the Sussex-Surrey area we have motorways and rail networks already running at over capacity levels, why compound problem over problem with more runways, pollution and congestion in the same already over-populated area? I openly ask UKIP a question here in this paper, if UKIP had MPs either in opposition or within a governing coalition, whether you would veto expansion at either Heathrow or Gatwick?
