ROAD ACCIDENT VICTIM GETS HER GOLD AWARD-THREE YEARS ON
The actual presentation of the award had been delayed since 2004, when a hit-and-run driver left Amelia with such serious injuries that she is still recovering.
Her award was gained through a diverse range of activities, including service to the community, physical and expedition skills and close team work over a period of some three years.

Hide AdAmelia, now aged 20, had been successful in completing the Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards. She completed the Bronze and Silver Awards whilst attending Tormead School, Guildford and the Gold whilst still a student at Godalming Sixth Form College.
Amelia completed her service section of the award as a young leader with the Brownies at their headquarters in Ifold, under the keen supervision of Brown Owl Gillian Rittmeyer.
