When Queen Elizabeth II turns 90 on April 21, Eastbourne will join in with national celebrations taking place across the country, by marking the occasion with a Beacon Lighting, birthday party and fireworks at the Bandstand.

The party kicks off at 6pm on Thursday 21 April, with a live set from DJ Oli, playing favourite party tunes and chart hits before the Eastbourne Bonfire Society lead a torch-lit procession along the lower promenade, from the Wish Tower to the beach west of the Bandstand where the beacon lighting will take place.

At 7.30pm mayor of Eastbourne Janet Coles will invite the crowd to sing Happy Birthday for the Queen and then Eastbourne Bonfire Society will light the Queen’s Birthday Beacon in honour of Her Majesty’s 90 years, before the festivities at the Bandstand continue with more music from DJ Oli with plenty of dancing by all.
