Hide AdAs one season finishes, another kicks off with the 2014/2015 Brooks Sussex Cross Country League beginning in earnest this weekend. With races for all ages from U11 to vets, there are fixtures across the county over the winter. Goodwood was up first on Saturday and it didn’t disappoint.
The Harriers were out in force with 16 men, 11 ladies and several Juniors across the age groups. Amongst notoriously tough competition, Paul Tomlinson finished in an excellent 15th position. In the Ladies’ race, first Harrier home was Kim Lo.
In the junior races, there were leading performances from Jasmine Mamoany, Matt Holbrook and Toby Wiles.
Also this weekend, in the Worthing Seafront 10k, two Harriers finished in the top 10 with Jack Chivers in 8th and Phil Payne in 9th. Natalie Chivers was thrilled to dip below the hour mark for the distance for the first time since having her daughter.
